Classroom teachers and PEAC teachers share ideas for how to cater for these students in the mainstream classroom. Come and find out how teachers have learnt how to work smarter, not harder, to raise the bar for all students. Jane Caswell - Jane is a teacher who has worked in mainstream schools at both ends of the academic spectrum. She is currently working as a PEAC coordinator/teacher and is passionate about sharing ideas and learning new things. Jane will be sharing her TEDEd journey so far. Tara Hannent - Tara has been a classroom teacher and is currently working with PEAC as a coordinator/teacher. She has been an instrumental part of the development of the Early Years pilot program and will be sharing how she, and others, incorporate Habits of Mind in the classroom to benefit all learners. Thomas Jones -Thomas is a teacher of English and Economics at Duncraig Senior High School. Thomas has a passion for 21st Century Learning and curriculum innovation and is completing the Masters of School Leadership postgraduate degree at the University of Western Australia. In November 2013, he designed and led Western Australia's maiden TeachMeetWA English professional learning event. Thomas will share how he uses Googleapps in his Year 10 Literature class to engage and extend his students. Kirsteen McCrory - Kirsteen has worked in schools both here and overseas. She is passionate about high quality education for all students and has developed many innovations since joining the PEAC team, including initiating the Early Years pilot program. Kirsteen will be sharing how she uses picture books to enhance mathematical understandings in the classroom. Helen Mills - Helen has a wealth of educational experience. She has been a LOTE teacher, PEAC Coordinator and Tournament of Minds official. As well as working with PEAC students, Helen currently runs online courses for teachers. Helen will share how these teachers have used different strategies to cater for gifted students and benefit all students.
Bhavneet Singh - Bhavneet is the Associate Principal at Quinns Beach PS. and initiator of TeachMeets in WA. Have you heard of Microsoft Educators Network? Bhavneet will share some resources with you that will lend themselves brilliantly to personalised and student centred learning.
